Long time no post! Things have been a bit busy lately. Bae and I took a family vacation to Asheville, NC for a cousin’s wedding. It was our first time visiting Asheville and we spent about 2 1/2 days there before the wedding. There’s so much to do there! I think we need to stay a full week sometime in the future.
We spent a full day at the Biltmore house and gardens (SO BEAUTIFUL), and then wandered around the city the other two days.
The Biltmore was stunning. For those of you who don’t know, it’s the largest home in America and it is suuuper fancy. Think Downton Abbey fancy. It sits on 8,000ish acres and there’s gardens, the house, a winery, a little village with shops, hiking trails next to a lake – it could probably be counted as its own city in North Carolina. We visited the house, the gardens, walked ALL the trails (I think my Fitbit counted 17,000 steps that day!) and visited the winery for a wine tasting. If you ever go to the Asheville area, I definitely recommend visiting the Biltmore!
The boys got in some golf time, we visited a few breweries, went on a ghost tour (this was seriously so much fun, and so informative!!!) and I stopped at the cutest downtown Asheville local yarn store, Purl’s Yarn Emporium.
I picked up two skeins of Berroco yarn, which I’ve never had the pleasure of knitting or crocheting with before, so I’m very excited to try them out!
I also purchased yarn from a local fiber artist called Good Fibrations. It’s the most beautiful shade of teal, my favorite color! I worked up a hat with it already for this winter. Pattern coming soon!
And as a little extra, I got the cutest tea themed stitch marker set by a local Asheville artist! (below)
Anyway, I have a bunch of projects in the works that I’ll be sharing here in the next few weeks as our busy summer winds down! Keep an eye out for those coming soon.
Thanks for reading! If you know any cool spots to check out in Asheville for our next trip then please let me know in the comments. π
