Free Crochet Pattern: Boho Fringe Pillow Cover

Hi everyone!

Here’s another free pattern that I just finished up – a boho fringe pillow cover! I love a good throw pillow and I’ve been seeing pillows about with tassels and fringes and I thought I’d give making one a go.

Once again, this pattern is very simple and beginner friendly! I made this pillow over the course of a weekend. The most time consuming part is adding the fringe! It’s worth the time spent though because this little pillow is a cute addition to your couch or bedroom.

Pattern Note:

The size I made is for a 12×12 square pillow, but adjustments can easily be made to fit a larger or smaller pillow size.

Materials Needed

Gauge

4″ x 4″: 8 rows x 12 sts in DC

Abbreviations (US):

Stitches Used

Pattern

Ch 39.

Row 1: DC in 4th ch from hook. DC across; ch 2, turn.

Row 2-21: dc in 2nd st from hook, dc across. Ch 2, turn.

Row 22: dc in 2nd st from hook, dc across. Tie off yarn.

*Follow the instructions above to make the front and back pieces of the pillow cover.

Adding the fringe:

In order to add the fringe, I worked diagonally from corner to corner. Adding the fringe this way makes it easier to keep the line straight.

I ended up using about two fringe pieces per stitch; one in the middle loop of the dc, and one at the base of the row between stitches.

Finishing

Once you have the fringe added, single crochet or seam the edges together around the pillow. Personally, I like the look of an sc edge, but it’s completely up to you!

Weave in ends and voila! Pillow complete!

I hope you enjoy this pattern and please let me know if you have any questions!

Happy making 🙂
