This free crochet pattern transforms your goose into the cutest little frog, complete with silly eyes and a matching green dress. It’s the perfect quick project to brighten up your porch, entryway, or school goose mascot!

Materials Needed:
- Size 5.0 mm crochet hook (I use these and these glitter hooks – they’re awesome!)
- 1 skein (198g / 7 oz, 333 meters / 364 yards) of Redheart Super Saver in Citron or color of your choosing; scraps of black and white. I used Redheart Super Saver for all parts of this pattern.
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Finished Measurements:
- Height: about 10.5″
- Width: about 13″
- Edge width: about 2.5″
- Note: Outfit designed to fit 23″ porch goose.
Gauge:
- Varies for this project.
- You may have to go up or down a hook size to obtain finished measurements. I recommend maintaining semi-loose/medium tension throughout.

Frog Dress:
note: ch 2 counts as a stitch.
With green, chain 30. Slst to join.
Round 1: ch 2, dc in each st around. Slst to top of ch 2. (30)
Round 2: ch 2, dc in each st around. Slst to top of ch 2. (30)
Round 3: ch 2, dc, 2dc in next st. (Dc 2, 2dc in next st), rep () to end of round. Slst to top of ch 2. (40)
Round 4: ch 2, dc in each st around. Slst to top of ch 2. (40)
Round 5: ch 2, dc next 2, 2dc in next st. (Dc 3, 2dc in next st), rep () to end of round. Slst to top of ch 2. (50)
Round 6: ch 2, dc in each st around. Slst to top of ch 2. (50)
Round 7: ch 2, dc next 3, 2dc in next st. (Dc 4, 2dc in next st), rep () to end of round. Slst to top of ch 2. (60)
Round 8: ch 2, dc in each st around. Slst to top of ch 2. (60)

Round 21: scallop row; don’t ch 2, (Sk 2, 5dc in next st, sk 2, slst), rep () around. Slst last 2. Tie off, weave in ends.
Frog Bonnet:
note: ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
With green, make a magic ring. In ring, ch 1, 10 sc, slst into ch 1 to join. (10)
Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (20)
Round 3: ch 1, sc around, slst into ch 1. (20)
Round 4: ch 1, (sc, 2sc in next st), rep () around, slst into ch 1. (30)
Round 5: ch 1, sc around, slst into ch 1. (30)
-Switch to rows-
Row 6: ch 1, sc 20, ch 1, turn. (20) This row is the set up for the back of the hood. The 10 stitch gap is the front of the hood.
Row 7: sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (20)
Row 8: sk 1st sc, sc across to last 2, sc2tog, ch 1, turn (18)
Row 9: sc across, ch 1, turn (18)
Row 10: rep 9 (18)
Row 11: sc across, ch 1, turn (18)
Row 12: rep 10 (18)
Row 13: rep 12 (18)
Row 14: sc across, ch 1. (18)
Edge:
Do not turn; instead, sc along the edge of the row leading back to the first row. Sc in each sc along the top, then sc along the edge of the row on the other side. (30)
To make the ties, ch 30, tie off. Insert hook into the other edge corner, ch 30, tie off.
Eyeballs:
Make 2.
With white, make a magic ring. In ring, ch 1, sc 6. Slst into ch 1. (6)
R2: ch 1, 2sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (12)
R3: ch 1, sc around, slst into ch 1. (12)
R4: ch 1, sc around, slst into ch 1. (12)
R5: ch 1, sc2tog around, slst into ch 1. (6)
Tie off yarn leaving about a 4″ tail. Stuff with small amount of fiber fill or yarn scraps, cinch shut. Tie off, weave in ends.
With scraps of black, sew slits for the pupil onto the middle of the eyeballs. I made 8 loops for mine, which made a fuller pupil, but feel free to get creative with how you want the eyes to look!
Eyelids:
Make two.
With green, make a magic ring. In the ring, ch 1, 8 sc, slst into ch 1. (8)
Round 2: ch 1, 2sc around, slst into ch 1. (16)
Round 3: ch 1, sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (16)
Round 4: ch 1, sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (16)
Round 5: ch 1, sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (16)
Tie off yarn, leaving a long tail, about 7″. Insert white eyeball into eyelids. I used the tail of the eyelids to anchor the eyeballs into the bottom of the eyelids. Using the same tail, sew eyelids to the top of the bonnet.
