Pattern:

Shell Bra:

Make 2.

With color c, make a slip knot, then ch 8.

Row 1: dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in next 4 ch, hdc, sc. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: sc blo, hdc blo, dc blo 4, in last st, 2dc cluster blo. Ch 2, turn.

Row 3: dc blo 5, hdc blo, sc blo. Ch 1, turn.

Row 4: sc blo, hdc blo, dc blo 4, in last st, 2dc cluster blo. Do not ch 2.

Proceed to make the scallop edge below.

Scallop Bra Edge:

Rotate the bra clockwise once, so that the rows are vertical and the widest part of the bra (dc edge) is at the top. In each row, insert hook under ch 2 or last dc of the row, (3sc, slst) in all 4 rows. Tie off yarn, weave in ends.Shell Bra Straps:

Optional: I used pearl beads from the dollar store to add a little extra mermaid detail to the shell bra. If you don’t want to use pearl beads, just sew the shells together leaving a half inch gap.

Insert hook into the middle of the wrong side one of the shells, in the stitch shown below. Ch 30. Slst into the other shell in the same stitch. Tie off yarn, weave in ends.

Hair:

With color d, make a slip knot, ch 6.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 chs, 3sc in last ch. Rotate so that you’re working down the opposite side of the row, sc in each st to end. Ch 26, turn. (11)

Row 2: (slst in 2nd ch from hook, slst next ch, hdc in next ch, alternate 2 hdc in next ch, hdc in next ch to end of ch, slst blo in the same st at the base of the ch 26. Slst blo in next st, ch 26), repeat () in each st to end of row, turn.

Row 3: 2 sc in each of the back loops from row 1. Ch 31, turn. (22)

Row 4: (slst in 2nd ch from hook, slst next ch, hdc in next ch, alternate 2 hdc in next ch, hdc in next ch to end of ch, slst blo in the same st at the base of the ch 31. Slst blo in next 2 sts, ch 31), repeat () in each st to end of row, tie off yarn, weave in ends.

To make the strap to secure the wig, use white yarn, insert hook into the 4th stitch on one side of the underside of the wig. Pull up a loop and ch 20. Slst into the 4th st on the other side of the wig. This will be a tight fit so the wig doesn’t budge; test before tying off as you may need to ch a few more depending on goose head.

Note: you can also use elastic instead of yarn if you have it; measure the length from the top of the wig around your goose head, cut and sew to wig.

Starfish:

With color e, make a magic ring.

Round 1: in ring, ch 1, make 10 scs, slst into ch 1 to join.
