This free crochet pattern transforms your goose into the cutest little mushroom, ready for fall with a mushroom cap hat and a matching mushroom dress. It’s the perfect quick project to brighten up your porch, entryway, or school goose mascot!

Materials Needed:
- Size 5.0 mm crochet hook (I use these and these glitter hooks – they’re awesome!)
- 1 skein (198g / 7 oz, 333 meters / 364 yards) of Redheart Super Saver in red and white
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Finished Measurements:
- Dress Length: about 11″
- Dress Width: about 13″ at bottom, 9.5″ middle, and 4″ at neck
- Hat Length/Width: 11″
- Hat Ties: 8″
- Spots: About 1.5″ length/width
- Note: Outfit designed to fit 23″ porch goose.
Gauge:
- 2″ x 2″: 6 sc sts x 8 rows
- 4″ x 4″: 12 dc sts x 8 rows
- You may have to go up or down a hook size to obtain finished measurements. I recommend maintaining semi-loose/medium tension throughout.

With white, chain 30. Slst to join.
Round 1: ch 2, dc in each st around. Slst to top of ch 2. (30)
Round 2: ch 2, dc in each st around. Slst to top of ch 2. (30)
Round 3: ch 2, dc, 2dc in next st. (Dc 2, 2dc in next st), rep () to end of round. Slst to top of ch 2. (40)
Round 4: ch 2, dc in each st around. Slst to top of ch 2. (40)
Round 5: ch 2, dc next 2, 2dc in next st. (Dc 3, 2dc in next st), rep () to end of round. Slst to top of ch 2. (50)
Round 6: ch 2, dc in each st around. Slst to top of ch 2. (50)
Round 7: ch 2, dc next 3, 2dc in next st. (Dc 4, 2dc in next st), rep () to end of round. Slst to top of ch 2. (60)

With red, make a magic ring.
Round 1: in ring, ch 2, then make 10 dcs. Tighten ring. St into top of ch 2. (10)
Round 2: ch 2, 2dc in each st around, slst into top of ch 2. (20)
Round 3: ch 2, (dc next st, 2dc in next st), rep () around, slst into top of ch 2. (30)
Round 4: ch 2, (dc next 2, 2dc in next st), rep () around, slst into top of ch 2. (40)
Round 5: ch 2, (dc next 3, 2dc in next st), rep () around, slst into top of ch 2. (50)
Round 6: ch 2, (dc next 4, 2dc in next st), rep () around, slst into top of ch 2. (60)
Round 7: ch 2, (dc next 5, 2dc in next st), rep () around, slst into top of ch 2. (70)
Round 8: ch 2, (dc next 6, 2dc in next st), rep () around, slst into top of ch 2. (80)

With white, make a magic ring.
Round 1: in ring, ch 1, sc 10, slst into ch 1. (10)
Round 2: ch 1, 2sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (20)
Round 3: ch 1, sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (20)
Round 4: ch 1, sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (20)
Round 5: ch 1, sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (20)
Round 6: ch 1, (sc, 2sc in next st), rep () around, slst into ch 1. (30)
Round 7: ch 1, sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (30)
Round 8: ch 1, sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (30)
Round 9: ch 2, 2dc blo in each st around, slst into top of ch 2. (60)
Round 10: ch 2, dc in each st around, slst into top of ch 2. (60)

Next, push the center of the right side of the hat bottom inward, as shown below.
To make the hat support and ties, use white yarn and insert hook into any front loop in round 8, as shown below.
Pull up a loop, chain 1 (counts as a stitch in row 1 only), then follow the rows below:
Row 1: sc 19, ch 1, turn. (20) This row is the set up for the back of the hat.
Row 2: sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (20)
Row 3: skip 1st sc, sc across to last 2, sc2tog, ch 1, turn (18)
Row 4-8: sc across, ch 1, turn (18)
Row 9: sc across, ch 30. Tie off yarn, trim end. (18)
To make the other hat tie, insert hook in opposite corner of row 9. Pull up a loop, ch 30. Tie off and trim yarn.
Once the hat top and bottom are made, place wrong sides together. Align hat top and bottom sts, and use red yarn to sc both pieces together. Tie off yarn, weave in ends.
Mushroom Spots:
Note: ch does not count as a st.
Make 9.
With white, make a magic ring.
Round 1: in ring, ch 1, sc 10, slst into ch 1. Tighten ring. (10)
Round 2: ch 1, (2sc in next st, sc), rep () around, slst into ch 1. (15)
Tie off yarn leaving a long tail that you can use to sew spot to hat. Sew all spots to hat as shown below.
