Today, I am thrilled to present a delightfully spooky crochet pattern for a to-go cup cozy with an ooze pattern, made using the finest cotton yarn. If you’re someone who enjoys sipping your favorite beverage on the go and wants to add a touch of style and comfort to your cup, you’ve come to the right place. This pattern is not only fun and easy to create but also perfect for those looking to make a trendy accessory while staying eco-friendly.
Spooky season is (finally) upon us again, and like all the other spooky ghoulies out there, I am SO EXCITED. If you follow me on Instagram or Pinterest, or even on this blog ;), you’ll know what a sucker I am for fall/Halloween/October. Heck, we even had a Halloween-themed wedding! You’ll also maybe remember that I LOVE LILY SUGAR N CREAM. And I have a huge stash of it that somehow keeps replenishing, almost like magic. Lol. So of course I had to create a cute and functional but still true to my spooky lil heart pattern, and hence the Ooze Cup Cozies were born! They also remind me of elementary school Halloween parties (green and purple = Goosebumps, amirite?) but for adults who drink iced coffee.
Each cozy can be made following the pattern or chart below. I personally love the textured drips created using bobbles – they really give this cozy the appearance of dripping ooze (or slime, or goop, or blood – take your pick!).

Materials Needed:
- Size 4.5 mm crochet hook (I use these and these glitter hooks – they’re awesome!)
- 1 ball each (71g / 2.5 oz, 109 meters / 120 yards) of Lily Sugar N Cream in colors of your choice or similar worsted weight/weight 4 category cotton yarn. I used red, black, white, hot orange, hot purple, and hot green.
- Stitch Markers
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Finished Measurements:
About 3.25″ height x 4.5″ width (flat)
Gauge:
Gauge isn’t super important for this project; you may have to go up or down a hook size to obtain finished measurements.
3″ x 3″ = about 10.5 sts x 12 rows
Pattern Notes:
- The colors can be customized; feel free to choose whatever colors you want!
- These were designed to fit standard to-go cups.
- The bobble stitch in this pattern is made up of 3 double crochet stitches. To make a bobble, *y/o, insert hook into st, draw up a loop, y/o, pull through 2 loops*; repeat ** two more times (you should have 4 loops left on your hook), then y/o and pull through all loops on hook.
- To seamlessly change colors, “finish” the stitch before a color change with the next color you need to use.
- Rounds are worked continuously/with no slst or chains at the end of each round; if you are a beginner, I would recommend using stitch markers to keep track of the end of the round.
- The chart is worked right to left.
- Each single crochet is worked between the posts of the single crochet in the row below to help keep the design from twisting, as follows:
