Here’s a free pattern to add a little extra LOVE to your home this Valentine’s Day!

Materials Needed:
- Size J β 6.00 mm crochet hook (I use these from Amazon β theyβre awesome!)
- Medium weight yarn in any color! I use Redheart Yarn Super Saver in Cherry Red and White and Bernat Baby in Pink
- Scissors
- Yarn needle (optional for weaving in ends)
Finished Size:
X and O = 2β³ height, 2″ width
Abbreviations (US):
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- pm = place marker
- st(s) = stitch(es)
Pattern:
To make the little X:
Make a magic loop.
Round 1: Ch 2, then 7 hdc in loop. Pull to tighten & close loop. Slst into top of ch 2.
Round 2: Ch 1. (optional: pm) Slst in next st. *Ch 4. Working back into ch, dc in the 3rd ch from hook, dc in next ch. Slst into the next 2 sts in the round. Rep *to end of round. Slst into ch 1 from beg of round.

To make the little O:
Make a magic loop.
Round 1: Ch 2. 19 dc in loop. Pull to close loop until the loop is about 1″ big; do not completely close loop. Slst into ch 2 from beg of round.

To make the garland:
Cut a strand of yarn to the length that you need it to be. I used white and cut mine several feet long so I could hang it on my mantle π
I also made hearts (two red and two pink) using my heart pattern (here) and four red and pink pompoms. I made three sets of pink xo’s and three sets of red xo’s.
I found it very helpful to lay my garland out on the floor in the order that I wanted it to be when I hung it up.
Thread one end of your yarn that you’re using to hang the garland through your yarn needle. Using your yarn needle, guide the yarn through the top of each X, O, and heart, and through the center of each pompom.
Your garland (if you make yours like mine) should look like this when you’re done:
