If you’re like me, you’re probably already thinking of what you want to make for this fall and winter. And you’re probably ready for cool weather again. I know I am. Can it be October yet?

But since we still have at least two months of hot, humid, sticky weather, why not squeeze in a few more summer projects?

1.) Sea Breeze Tank Top by For the Frills: This top is so pretty and flattering. It may seem like a tricky project for beginners to take on, but the pattern is so well-written and easy to follow. There’s also a YouTube video tutorial! Definitely add this tank to your summer project queue.

2.) Casablanca Summer Poncho by Mama In A Stitch: This is on my list of projects to make this summer. I think this could even be a great summer-fall transition piece to add to your wardrobe. It’s so flowy and the stitching is so gorgeous! Perfect for a cover up, or for date night, or for chilly summer nights.

3.) Crochet Cute Sunglasses Pouch by Joy of Motion Crochet: This is a super simple, cute, practical project that is essential for your beach bag, purse, car – pretty much anywhere. Not only does this project not take a lot of yarn or time to make, it’s so handy and will protect your sunglasses from scratches or damage wherever you keep them. I tend to throw mine in my bag willy-nilly and they get all scratched or dirty, and most of the time, I can’t remember where I put them. So this is a win-win pattern for me – I love it!

4.) Summer Rose Coasters by A Conversation With Moo: When it’s too hot to even think about making shawls and wraps (even if they’re breezy and cool!), I like to turn my attention to home decor items. These coasters are so super cute, floral, and made in the prettiest colors. I can just see these on my patio table, beneath an icy cold glass of wine. Love this pattern.

5.) Crochet June Sun Hat by Sewrella: Okay, I recently *purchased* my first sun hat and I’m obsessed. I want a million of them. Stylish, keeps your face from getting sunburned (I’m so pasty, I need to use SPF 5,000), great accessory for any occasion! This hat is so cute and versatile. And, per the crafter’s mantra – why buy it when you can make it?! I’m planning to whip one of these up before my upcoming vacation.

6.) Dropped Stitch Top by The Snugglery: This knit design is so boho and pretty. The dropped stitch creates open space that makes this top super breathable and comfy for hot, sunny days. I love the variation in the dropped stitch stripes – so cute and trendy.

Daisy Knit WashCloth

7.) Daisy Stitch Knit Washcloth by Nourish and Nestle: Like I said, when it’s too hot to work on any heavy projects, I like to make up home decor and practical things. These washcloths are so beautiful – the stitch gives them such a beautiful texture. Plus, washcloths are a super quick project to make and these washcloths would make lovely gifts to start making ahead of time for the holidays.

8.) Chunky Knitted Blanket with Giant Yarn by Hairs Out Of Place: I’ve been focusing on gathering projects that will keep you cool outdoors – but what about projects to keep you warm inside? I’m always freezing, especially when my boyfriend keeps the air conditioning set at 68. All. Summer. Even when it’s 72 degrees outside. So blankets to the rescue! I love the look of giant chunky blankets, and I have always wanted to give knitting with giant yarn a go. This post has a lot of great yarn suggestions to get you started.

9.) Bobble Stitch Hot Pads by Sarah Faith Crafts: One more crochet pattern for this list. My bobble hot pads! Cotton yarn comes in so many varieties of bright, summery colors, and it’s the perfect summer yarn (in my opinion). This project is another one that’s perfect for when it’s too warm to work on sweaters, scarves, blankets, etc. Not to mention this project is so easy to work up and very portable – fits perfectly in your beach bag!

10.) Stormy Sky Shawl by Life Is Cozy: This compilation wouldn’t be complete without at least one knit shawl pattern. I love the delicacy of this shawl by Life Is Cozy. The variation in stitches used creates a beautiful texture. A shawl is a great accessory to wrap up with around a bonfire, or to wear on breezy summer days. I also adore the sunny yellow yarn used for this project.

I hope you try some of these projects out for this summer! The designers linked above are so talented and create interesting and beautiful designs. Be sure to check out their websites for more patterns for all seasons.

Happy summer knitting and crocheting!
