Boho Stitch Sampler Wall Hanging

This pattern is a super easy, beginner-friendly wall hanging that uses a few different stitches to create a textured boho look.

Materials Needed:

Measurements:

  • Finished Size without Dowel Rod and Tassels: width 10โ€ณ, height 14โ€ณ
  • Finished Size with Dowel Rod and Tassels: width 10″, height 23″

Abbreviations (US):

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • puff = puff stitch
  • bobble = bobble stitch
  • picot = picot stitch
  • st(s) = stitch(es)

Stitches Used:

Notes:

  • In this pattern, the turning chain does NOT count as a stitch
  • Each puff stitch is made by yarning over and pulling up a loop 4 times in the same stitch
  • Each puff is “closed” by chaining 1. Always sc in the ch 1 space to avoid increasing stitches.
  • Each bobble stitch is made up of 4 double crochet stitches made into the same stitch
  • Each picot stitch is made with 4 chains

Pattern:

Ch 32.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Rows 2-4: Sc in 1st st, sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 5: Sc in 1st st, sc 1, *puff in next st, sc 1*. Repeat * until end of row. Sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 6: Sc in 1st st, sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 7: Sc in 1st st, sc 1, *puff in next st, sc 1*. Repeat * until end of row. Sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 8: Hdc in 1st st, hdc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 9-10: Hdc in 1st st, hdc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 11: Sc in 1st st, sc 1, *bobble in next st, sc 1*. Repeat * until end of row. Sc in last st. Ch 2, turn.

Row 12: Dc in 1st st, dc across. Ch 2, turn.

Row 13: Dc in 1st st, dc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 14: Sc in 1st st, sc 1, *picot in next st, sc 1*. Repeat * until end of row. Sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 15: Sc in 1st st, sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 16: Dc in 1st st, sc; alternate dc, sc to end of row. Ch 1, turn.

Row 17: Sc in 1st st, dc; alternate sc, dc to end of row. Ch 1, turn.

Row 18: Dc in 1st st, sc; alternate dc, sc to end of row. Ch 1, turn.

Row 19: Sc in 1st st, dc; alternate sc, dc to end of row. Ch 1, turn.

Row 20: Dc in 1st st, sc; alternate dc, sc to end of row. Ch 1, turn.

Row 21: Sc in 1st st, sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 22: Sc in 1st st, sc 1, *picot in next st, sc 1*. Repeat * until end of row. Sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 23: Sc in 1st st, sc across. Ch 2, turn.

Row 24: Dc in 1st st, dc across. Ch 2, turn.

Row 25: Dc in 1st st, dc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 26: Sc in 1st st, sc 1, *bobble in next st, sc 1*. Repeat * until end of row. Sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 27: Hdc in 1st st, hdc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 28-29: Hdc in 1st st, hdc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 30: Sc in 1st st, sc 1, *puff in next st, sc 1*. Repeat * until end of row. Sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 31: Sc in 1st st, sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 32: Sc in 1st st, sc 1, *puff in next st, sc 1*. Repeat * until end of row. Sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 33: Sc in 1st st, sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 34-35: Sc in 1st st, sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 36: Sc in 1st st, sc across.

Tie off yarn, leaving a long tail.

Using the tail and a tapestry needle, sew a loop around the dowel rod through each stitch to connect the dowel rod to your work.

Tie another string around each end of the dowel rod to use as your wall hanging hanger.

Next, cut about 62 strands of yarn about 18″ long. Insert two strands into each stitch at the bottom of your wall hanging to make the fringe. Cut to your desired length.
