This free crochet pattern transforms your goose into the cutest little vampire, ready for Halloween with a cloak and fangs. Materials Needed:

Size 5.0 mm crochet hook (I use these and these glitter hooks – they’re awesome!)
1 skein (198g / 7 oz, 333 meters / 364 yards) of Redheart Super Saver in red, white, and black
Super Glue Brand Pre-cut Foam Mounting Tape for the fangs (I bought mine at Dollar Tree for $1.50)
Scissors
Yarn needle

Finished Measurements:

Dress Length: about 11″
Dress Width: about 13″ at bottom, 9.5″ middle, and 4″ at neck
Cloak Length: 12.5″
Cloak Width: 30″ at bottom, 9.5″ at top of collar
Bow Width: about 3″
Bow Length: about 2″
Hat Length: About 4″
Hat Width: About 6″
Hat Ties: About 8″
- Note: Outfit designed to fit 23″ porch goose.

Gauge:

2″ x 2″: 6 sc sts x 8 rows
4″ x 4″: 12 dc sts x 8 rows
You may have to go up or down a hook size to obtain finished measurements. I recommend maintaining semi-loose/medium tension throughout.

Dress:
With white, ch 30, slst into 1st ch to join.
Round 1: ch 2, dc in each st around, slst into top of ch 2. (30)
Round 2: ch 2, dc in each st around, slst into top of ch 2. (30)
Round 3: ch 2, dc, 2dc in next st. (Dc 2, 2dc in next st), rep () around, slst into top of ch 2. (40)
Round 4: ch 2, dc in each st around, slst into top of ch 2. (40)
Round 5: ch 2, dc 2, 2dc in next st. (Dc 3, 2dc in next st), rep () around, slst into top of ch 2. (50)
Round 6: ch 2, dc in each st around, slst into top of ch 2. (50)
Round 7: ch 2, dc 3, 2dc in next st. (Dc 4, 2dc in next st), rep () around, slst into top of ch 2. (60)

Bowtie:
With white, make a slip knot. Ch 8.

Row 1: dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc across, ch 2, turn. (6)
Row 2-4: dc across, ch 2, turn. (6)
Row 5: dc across, tie off, leaving a long tail to attach to center front of dress.

Rotate the rectangle so that rows appear as columns. Pinch the middle of the bowtie rectangle, as shown below. Using yarn needle, secure the pinched section, and wrap yarn tail around the center of the bowtie.

Wig:
note: ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
With black, make a magic ring.

Round 1: In ring, ch 1, 10 sc, slst into ch 1 to join. (10)
Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, slst into ch 1. (20)

Insert hook into the other edge corner, ch 30, tie off and trim excess.

Cloak:
Make 1 red (lining) and 1 black (outer layer).

Make a slip knot. Ch 32.

Tie off yarn.

Once both sides have been made, place both pieces together, lining up the top collars and cloak bottoms. The red piece is the lining of the cloak.

Using black yarn, starting in the bottom corner, sc both pieces together; I made one sc in each st, 2 sc in each row edge, and 3 sc in each corner space. When you reach the starting corner again, sc 2 in corner, and slst into the 1st st. Tie off yarn, weave in ends.

To make the cloak ties, use red yarn and insert hook into the red/lining layer of the narrowest part of the cloak. Pull up a loop, ch 30. Tie off and trim excess. Repeat on opposite side.

To make the fangs, I used one of the pre-cut sticky foam pieces and cut small triangles, about .5″ in length. Peel off one of the backing sheets and stick fang to either side of your goose’s bill.
